One of the major features of the HydroVantage® is its Zurn-designed Environmental Trending Technology. Environmental Trending is the valve’s ability to sense its lighting environment and usage patterns to optimize energy saving during periods of activity as well as downtime.

The HydroVantage® continually tracks restroom usage and monitors light patterns through the valve’s ambient light sensor. The number of activations per hour and the ambient light level readings are stored for the last seven-day period. This data is analyzed to establish usage patterns. Once a pattern is recognized the HydroVantage® will place itself into a low power consumption mode or sleep mode accordingly. It will awaken from sleep mode when it detects an increase in ambient light level, as in when the lights are turned on. Any change or disruption to the established usage pattern will prompt a new pattern recognition sequence.

Environmental Trending enables the HydroVantage® to achieve or surpass its advertised 10 year battery life.
